My notes from this Short
Two Duda kicks on two buses
For oscillator A and B I use any of the Duda kicks, with pitch tracking disabled for both. Route A to none, bus 1, and B to none, bus 2. Then I disable A for a second and create the rumble in bus 2.
Reverb on hall, all the way, with the size down. Roll off the highs with an EQ, add a utility to make the bass mono, distortion on soft saturator, and roll off the highs one more time. You can add a bit of a bass boost in the first EQ.
Blend the punch with LFO 2
I use LFO 1 on envelope to control the volume of the last effects. Then re-enable A and use LFO 2 to shape the length of A, so the punch and the rumble really blend together. Scroll through the Duda kicks until you find a blend that works.
Soft clipper and upwards compression at the end
Then some final processing. The soft saturator is great, but we don't want to blow it up, so if there's too much crunch I take down bus 2 a little bit. A bass boost afterwards and a distortion on soft clipper really help add that low end, and you can roll off the highs a bit if the punch is too much.
Now the compressor on multiband. Take down the threshold and open the compression ratio. If your kick is a bit too mono, go back into the utility and roll down the crossover frequency of the bass mono.
